Should I Use A Pet Mover To Ship My Pets To Another Country?
Two of my kitties are being shipped to my boyfriend’s house in the UK. I got an estimate from a mover (Animal Land or something like that) and it was about $2300 (ouch!) and I have to pay for it myself (boyfriend paying for my ticket later in the year). I heard just shipping them myself by contacting an airline is cheaper but using a pet mover will help with all the paperwork.

I used to work for Delta, Air France, and Korean Air’s export cargo department, also known as Skyteam Cargo. We shipped alot of animals! Daily! I had a lady one time who was sending 8 dogs to France. The paperwork is actually not too terrible, as long as you have it all in order. You can check with the consulate of the UK to get the exact documentation requirements for the timeframe that you will be traveling. Companies that specialize in helping people ship animals do extremely overcharge compared to going straight to the airlines.
Well..i mean it would be more convient for ur “kitties” since ur getting ur money back later u probably should. But hey.
You can contact the airline and they’ll tell you what paperwork needs to be done. It’s not that hard to do. I’d do it myself. At least ask the airline before paying $2300. What do you have to loose by calling them?
i have no idea if this would help but u could wait until u move there to move ur kitties?
put them in a box, punch holes, add postage.
P: which one do you think would be less stressfull and more comfortable for your pets would be the best choice.
S: Depends on how long the flight is. 7 hours or more consider not using pet mover
Well, the question then becomes how much is them doing the paperwork worth to you? Find out the regulations for overseas travel for pets first, it may cost more than that with shots, and who knows what else. Are you staying there? If not consider a friend or family member keeping them for a fee. Good luck. Do the research to be safe. Also, if you use the service, get referrals and check them and the BBB. Good luck.
I would just sell them instead of paying that much money.
