There are schools do some surfing under Grooming Schools. Ask at a local Petco if they have a groomer speak with them. Especially if you have anyone in your area that grooms in peoples homes and ask if they would be willing to apprentice you. I know that my mom has groomed for 35 years and is looking to retire and has been looking for someone to apprentice with her and eventually take over her buisness. So I am sure there are other goomers out there like that. I hope this may help you. Call around to some of your local groomers. You will get a taste of what the job consists of. If you are still interested after about 4-5 months in becoming a groomer, then go to school. You start off as a bather, then can take classes to be a groomer. The schooling is free and you get paid to go. I started a month ago at Petco, with only cashiering experience. It can be done.
