It’s painful, but you have to be consistent. I had two Macaws, which are considerably larger in size and beak that I had to train to get out of that habit. First, let the bird get used to your hand in the cage. Don’t let her out of the cage anymore until she is able to climb upon your finger without biting. Secondly, clip her wings! Have a vet or avian specialist do it for you. Do not let the birds height be higher than your own. As she get used to your hand, the next step is to place your index finger against her breast (keel bone) and push her back just enough to where she prefers to climb onto it rather than fly away. You may have to wrap your finger with a band aid or protective covering until she realizes she can’t hurt you anymore. Do this several times a day if possible. I get them used to my commands by repeating “up up” while trying to get the bird unto my finger. Who knows, she may surprise you one day and repeat it! The can talk, just not that often. It seems as if your trying to encourage her to breed. If that’s the case, then you have to make the decision, do you want a tame pet or a breeder. If your choice is the breeder, then don’t even bother with taming. Breeding budgies or parrots usually stay independent and don’t tolerate well human intervention. They have their mate, and if they are breeding, you may disrupt them by disturbing them during this time.
you need to gradually walk into this. Birds can also become more positive when their put in the busiest room of the house because their very social. My parakeet is alot like that, you just need to spend time with it every day in order for it to trust you, attempt to hand feed it, whistle to it, try alot of differant things.
try a bullwhip
well, i had this same problem. The bird is being threatened if it pecks or flies away. if it pecks, say “no” in a nice firm voice.
good luck
Get her wings clipped so she can’t fly….makes her dependent.
BB gun, perhaps?
Get a cat.
