Can I Start A Pet Sitting Business In My Own Home?
I live in Toronto, ON and want to hear from people who knows anything about pet sitting business. In particular, can I start pet sitting business in my own home? I have my own dogs(3 small toy poodles) and they are very friendly and up to date on all vaccines and vet checks. Can I pet sit other small dogs if I already have 3 legally allowed dogs in my household and what I need for that(i.e. license, insurance, anything else?) ???? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
You’d have to ask your local government agencies about the details. Try the chamber of commerce and/or animal control or whoever you would need to talk to about a small business license. They know all the local bylaws and what not and should be able to help more than random internet people will.
It depends on the County that you live in, or municipality. There isn’t a federal guideline on this matter. You should probably work your way up, first home owners association, then municipality, then County. I doubt your State will have any pet sitting legislation.
